The Uyuni Salt flats in Bolivia is one of the most extraordinary places to visit. Salar de Uyuni is the location where travellers in South America take those awesome reflective & perspective photos. With so many exceptional & unique sites this is a photographer’s delight. Check out #uyuni on Instagram & you would find some amazing poses. The most popular way to explore the salt flats is to do a 3-day tour where you would also some amazing coloured lagoons, pink flamingos, awesome geysers & ofcourse if you visit during the rainy season, then you can get many reflection photos on the salt flats.

What is the best time to visit the Uyuni?

It depends on what you would like to see most on the trip- the vast expanses of white salt pans or the incredible water mirror surfaces? June to November is the dry season to enjoy the massive salt flats whereas Dec to April is the wet season where you can catch reflections if it rains enough.

Add on places:

It is not easy to visit only Bolivia thus we recommend adding Chile to the least to experience this Uyuni in a comfortable way. We plan one way by road with visit to another amazing place- San Pedro de Atacama in Chile! Chile also has some fantastic places and while there, going to Patagonia is an absolute must! Another city we recommend in Bolivia is to visit the beautiful city of La Paz!

You can also add Peru as a country if you wish to add more places and days.
